SA-11 –– Light Wire-Brushed Larch 190mm Wide Plank Engineered Flooring
SA-11 is a 190mm wide plank engineered larch floor with a light wire-brushed surface finished in UV lacquer: 15/4mm 3-layer construction with a 4mm solid larch wear layer over a spruce core and poplar backing, CD grade, T&G installation. The light wire-brushing lifts the softer early-wood grain while leaving the denser late-wood ridges intact, producing a subtle, tactile texture that follows larch's natural grain rhythm rather than an aggressive distressed relief. CD grade allows generous natural knot character — unlimited fresh knots up to 45mm, filled cracked knots, dark grain lines, and slight natural discolouration — giving SA-11 an authentic, rustic-toned appearance with warm grey-beige tonal variation across boards. UV lacquer seals the brushed surface for durable, low-maintenance daily performance. SA-11 is stocked at AMUER's EU warehouse in Serbia, offering EU customers significantly faster delivery than China-origin stock.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Wire-Brushed Larch at 190mm — Authentic Grain Texture, Rustic CD Character, EU-Stocked
SA-11 brings European larch to the AMUER wide plank range — a softwood species prized for its pronounced early-wood/late-wood grain contrast and naturally high resin content, which contributes to strong dimensional stability and a warm, slightly reddish-beige base tone. The light wire-brushing process is specifically suited to larch's grain structure: brushing removes the softer early-wood fibres while leaving the harder late-wood ridges standing proud, producing a naturally textured surface that follows the wood's own grain pattern rather than an artificially applied relief.
SA-11 is graded CD, one of the more characterful grades in the AMUER system. Fresh knots are permitted without limit on count up to 45mm, cracked and filled knots up to 30mm diameter are allowed, and dark grain lines and bark pockets appear across the batch (bark pockets filled). Slight natural discolouration is permitted, giving board-to-board tonal variation, while worm holes, blue-staining, and rot remain excluded — keeping the rustic character controlled and consistent in quality despite the bold natural features.
The 15mm/4mm three-layer construction — larch wear layer over a spruce core with a poplar backing — is a lighter-weight engineered specification well suited to residential floating or T&G fixed installation. The 4mm larch wear layer provides meaningful depth for surface maintenance while keeping the overall board profile efficient for shipping and handling.
Critically, SA-11 is held in stock at AMUER's EU warehouse in Serbia — not shipped directly from the China factory. For EU-based buyers, this means dramatically reduced lead times and shipping costs compared to China-origin orders, making SA-11 well suited to time-sensitive EU project specification.
Design Guide
SA-10's EF maximum character, 220mm wide plank scale, natural oil warmth, and Serbia availability make it the specification for interiors that embrace natural materials in their most powerful and uncompromised form. The floor is the room's primary natural material statement.
Farmhouse, Barn & Country House
SA-10's 220mm EF natural oil is the definitive specification for farmhouse, barn conversion, and country house interiors across Europe. The wide EF grade boards at natural oil finish reference the antique wide-plank oak floors of historic agricultural buildings with precision. Serbia stock availability makes this historically referenced specification immediately accessible.
Natural Maximalist & Material-Led
In natural maximalist and material-led interiors where every material is selected for its authentic, unmodified quality, SA-10's EF grade at 220mm is the floor that anchors all other natural materials. Wide, warm, dramatically characterful, and honestly natural — the floor refuses to be curated or uniform, presenting European oak exactly as it grows.
Warm Heritage & Maximalist Colour
Against rich, deep wall colours — forest green, navy, warm terracotta, burgundy — SA-10's warm honey-amber EF wide plank creates a rich, luminous floor contrast. The EF grade's knots and colour variation read as a complex natural ground beneath intense decoration. The wide boards provide a generous warm field against saturated colours.
Installation
Tongue & Groove Installation (T&G)
・Suitable for glue-down or nail-down over a timber subfloor, or floating with click-compatible underlayment where applicable
・Subfloor flatness: 3mm per 2m maximum
・Expansion gap: minimum 12mm at all walls
・Acclimatisation: 48 hours before laying
・Stagger end joints: minimum 300mm
Underfloor Heating
・Compatible — maximum surface temperature 27°C. Maintain 45–60% RH year-round. Larch's naturally high resin content supports good dimensional stability under UFH cycling.
・4mm wear layer supports light-to-moderate surface maintenance; consult installer for refinishing guidance specific to larch.
Room Suitability
| Room / Application | Suitability | Notes | |
| Living Rooms | Exceptional | Warm grey-beige tone and grain-following texture suit both traditional and Scandinavian-influenced interiors. | |
| Bedrooms | Exceptional | Larch's natural warmth and CD grade character create an inviting, textured floor. UV lacquer needs no re-oiling. | |
Open Plan | Very Good | Rustic CD character reads well at scale across larger open-plan layouts.
Dining Rooms | Good | UV lacquer resists spills; natural grain variation helps mask everyday wear.
Hallways | Consider carefully | As a softwood species, larch has lower surface hardness than oak — CD grade character helps disguise light wear, but very high-traffic zones may show marks over time.
Kitchen (dry zone) | Consider carefully | UV lacquer resists splashes in dry areas only.
Bathrooms | Not Recommended | Not suitable for wet environments.
Care & Maintenance
| Task | Method | ||
| Daily | Dry sweep or vacuum with soft brush head. Brushed grain texture can collect fine grit — regular removal protects the UV lacquer surface. | ||
| Weekly | Damp mop with well-wrung cloth and pH-neutral UV lacquer floor cleaner only. No steam mop. | ||
Spills | Wipe immediately. UV lacquer provides good spill resistance.
No re-oiling | UV lacquer requires no periodic re-oiling. Never apply wax or oil to SA-11 — adhesion failure with UV lacquer will result.
Softwood care note | As a larch (softwood) species, use felt pads under furniture and entrance mats to reduce indentation from point loads and grit.
Never | Steam mop · standing water · wax or oil on UV lacquer · abrasive pads · ammonia or bleach-based cleaners.

FAQ
Q1. What is larch, and how does it differ from oak flooring?
Larch is a softwood species with a pronounced early-wood/late-wood grain pattern and naturally high resin content, which gives it good natural dimensional stability. Compared to oak, larch typically has lower surface hardness and a warmer, more reddish-beige natural tone. SA-11's wire-brushing is specifically suited to larch's grain structure, producing a textured surface that follows the wood's own growth pattern.
Q2. What does 15/4mm construction mean?
15mm is the total board thickness. 4mm is the solid larch wear layer — the surface layer you walk on. The remaining depth is a 3-layer core: a spruce core layer beneath the larch wear layer, with a poplar backing layer for balance and stability.
Q3. What does CD grade mean on SA-11?
CD grade allows a high degree of natural character: fresh knots up to 45mm with no limit on count, cracked and filled knots up to 30mm diameter, dark grain lines, filled bark pockets, and slight natural discolouration between boards. No sapwood, worm holes, blue-staining, or rot are permitted under CD grade, keeping the rustic character controlled despite the bold natural knot and grain features.
Q4. Why is SA-11 stocked in Serbia rather than China?
SA-11 is held at AMUER's EU warehouse in Serbia specifically to serve EU customers with faster delivery, lower freight costs, and simpler customs clearance compared to ordering directly from the China factory. This is well suited to EU-based projects with tighter timelines.
Q5. Can SA-11 be used over underfloor heating?
Yes — SA-11 is compatible with both hydronic and electric UFH, maximum surface temperature 27°C. Maintain indoor humidity at 45–60% RH year-round.
Q6. Is SA-11 suitable for high-traffic areas?
As a softwood species, larch has lower surface hardness than oak. SA-11 is well suited to living rooms, bedrooms, and moderate-traffic spaces; for very high-traffic hallways or commercial areas, an oak specification may offer better long-term wear resistance.
Q7. Is SA-11 available from stock?
Yes — SA-11 is a Serbia EU warehouse stock product. Contact amuer@amuerflooring.com for current available quantities, pricing, and dispatch schedule.
